The update is out there
Special Agent Fox Mulder of the United States Department of Justice's investigative arm, the Federal Bureau of Investigation is said to be looking into the mysterious disappearance of the update. A reliable source within the Bureau passed this along:
"Spooky" Mulder has a report on his desk claiming one Ryan Craig Meader was abducted by unknown extra-terrestrial entities Wednesday night. The report alleges a bright white light appeared in the Maine sky, and that Meader was sucked in by a strange tractor beam.

When MOSRR attempted to reach agent Mulder, all we received was a "no comment," but there were strange moaning noises in the background.

Mac OS 8.6 to feature Mauve Box
Following up on our previous story, a reader wrote in with more details of the alleged "Mauve Box." Their writing style has been changed because frankly, it sucked.
You guys are way off. The Mauve Box does not run Atari ST apps, it runs PalmPilot apps. As you may have noticed, Apple's Hot News page recently featured a couple of extremely flattering articles about 3Com's Palm device. In order to strengthen their alliance, Apple will be providing a runtime environment for Palm apps.

As the wackier of the two stories MOSRR has today, we're skeptical of this reader's real knowledge. But we ran the story anyway.
